Credit & identity
Know what is being checked, and why.
No credit inquiry or identity verification runs on the current Kaeva website.
Credit checks
A credit inquiry is a request to review a credit report. Soft inquiries do not affect credit scores; hard inquiries can. The actual partner must identify the inquiry type and request the required authorization before an application is submitted.
Read the CFPB explanation of credit inquiries.
Identity verification
Identity checks may validate that an applicant is who they say they are. They do not establish credit approval. A lending partner may require identifying information, an SSN or documents through its secure process.
What Kaeva collects now
The calculator accepts only an amount, an assumed APR and a term. It does not ask for a name, SSN, identity document, bank details, income or credit score. Saving an estimate stores those calculator assumptions on this browser only.
Before a future application
- Identify the lender and the recipient of personal information.
- Read the privacy notice, eligibility rules and actual terms.
- Understand whether an inquiry is soft or hard and authorize it.
- Provide sensitive information only through the approved secure partner flow.
- Review the actual lending decision and agreement.
